早年種植地瓜的旱地，改為正泰養雞場後，飼養過數千隻肉雞、蛋雞供給東西莒軍民所需，二十一世紀初，因人口外移、駐軍銳減而歇業。歇業前短暫經營過手扒雞，居民曾為了捧場而購買，卻留下老母雞過於乾柴，肉質難以入口之印象。
Thousands of broilers and layers were raised in this Chicken Farm, which was previously an arid sweet potato field, to supply servicemen and civilians in Dongju and Xiju until it closed in earlier 21st century as the population dwindled and the garrisons were drastically downsized. Before its closure, the Chicken Farm briefly sold braised chicken, but it impressed customers unpleasantly due to the overly dry taste of poultry from its older hens.
2020年後，透過縣府補助，重新補強、汰換崩壞的建築結構，發展為社區的食農教育場地，運用現地素材興建土窯、土灶，並以半放養方式重新飼養蛋雞。2023年，配合實境節目錄製，又於入門左側相思樹搭建樹屋，拆卸福正沙灘棄置漁船船板、儀表板、對講機等元件重新組裝，命名為「士官長的再生船屋」，成為小島孩童的遊樂基地。
From 2020 onwards, with funding from the County office for structural reinforcement and repairs, the Chicken Farm has been repurposed as a community agri-food education center where kilns and cooking ranges are made from in-place materials and the layers are kept free-range. The tree house, dubbed Master Sergeant’s Reassembly Houseboat, on the Taiwan Acacia to visitor’s left after their entry, built from a discarded boat at Fuzheng sand beach, was created for a 2023 reality television show and is now a playground for the children on the island.
