A modernized natural well owing to the re-engineering of the East Sea Force along with the inscription ‘Minhai Mountains’ and ‘Dongsha Well’ for commemoration. Before tap water service became widely available, this well was the domestic water supply source for the settlement. During the high-flow spring and summer seasons, children and men would wash themselves and women would wash clothes at the well. During the low-flow winter season, households access the well in turns.

Residents of Dapu regularly brought their stools and gathered to watch television in the evening. Over and over again, accidents of people falling into an open street gutter happened amid the crowd’s push toward the television.
